FoxNews.com has reported that "peace mom" Cindy Sheehan stated that she would run against Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as an Independent unless Pelosi brings forward articles of impeachment against President Bush (read story here). There are two major problems with this story. First, the overt demand for impeachment when there are no grounds for such. Bush did not commit "high crimes and misdemeanors" as required by the Constitution for impeachment. Second, is Sheehan herself making such an inflammatory demand of Pelosi. This is the same Cindy Sheehan who recently announced she was bowing out of the anti-war movement. Well, it seems that Mother Sheehan is either a liar or a hypocrite, but likely both, as if she said she was getting out of the anti-war movement, then this announcement contradicts the earlier "retirement" announcement. Cindy, if you say you are getting out of something, do not try to slither your way into the anti-war movement by another vehicle, it is dishonest and people will figure it out.

It is quite sad in one sense to read the saga of Sheehan. One feels pity on her for the loss of her son, as well as the abuse of her by radical leftists, like Michael Moore. However, one becomes less sympathetic when they hear her refer to President Bush as a terrorist and hanging out with American enemy Hugo Chavez. Her son, Casey, is a true American hero. He fought and died for something greater than himself and something that he believed in, his country.

One positive does arise from this story that may benefit conservatives in San Fransisco. If Sheehan runs as an Independent against Pelosi, it will likely split the Left-wing voting block in SF, which could allow a conservative candidate to win. Democrats beware, not only do you face a hostile public dissatisfied with your liberal antics, as illustrated by your abysmal approval rating in Congress, but you also face the wrath of Mama Sheehan, a loose cannon of a woman who will not stop until Bush and America are toppled. One wonders what Casey thinks as he gazes down from Heaven.
